Oscar Wild: the absolute impertinent person

Petit Palais pays tribute to the most Francophone and Francophile Irland author:
Oscar Wilde

Knowing that Oscar Wilde was a seasoned Francophone and Francophile, one wonders why France did not pay tribute to the author of Portrait de Dorian Grey.
The wrong has been righted with the organization of the exhibition ‘Oscar Wilde: L’impertinent absolu’[Oscar Wild: the absolute impertinent person].

It offers the opportunity to review the life and work of the Irish writer through manuscripts and portraits. It is important to note that particular attention will be paid to Salomé, a book written in French.
Whether in the area of theatre plays, novels, poems or stories for children, Oscar Wilde was a prolific writer who, through his boldness, made his mark in the second half of the XIX century. Despite his talent, Oscar Wilde who rubbed shoulders with people like Gide, Mallarmé, Verlaine, Hugo... died in misery after he was convicted of homosexuality in 1895.
