Exhibition "Aventuriers des mers" at the Arab World Institutes

The Arab World Institute and MuCEM de Marseille worked in concert to design this event, which will offer an exotic and enchanting new environment.

From November 15 , 2016 to February 26, 2017

The Arab World Institutes invites you for a thrilling adventure between the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean through an exhibition devoted to sea routes, marines and merchant travelers.

Having as main item on the agenda many narratives, this vast event will take us on a journey from the Omeyyades Empire from the VII to the XVI century after presenting ancient heritage. In all, some two hundred exceptional pieces will make up the event while highlighting maritime trade in ancient times.
Focus will also be on the history of major explorations, scientific knowledge in navigation and also trade in gold, diamond, silk and spices.
